Hardwood

Engineered hardwood comes in a variety species, colors, finishes and widths.  You can very easily find the look that matches your home décor.  Engineered wood is made by building up layers of wood. You may find up to 10 layers and as few as three depending on the product that you pick.

The multi-ply construction provides protection against shrinking and expanding as humidity changes in addition to providing greater stability than solid wood. In addition to the structural benefits from the multi-ply construction the pre-finishing method provides you with a surface that will last anywhere from 5-35 years depending on the product that you pick.

The variety of choices that are available in engineered wood is mind boggling.  One of our vendors, Armstrong has nearly 400 hardwood products alone.

Laminate

Laminate flooring is made up of multiple layers (4), a backing layer, inner core, design and the wear layer.  Stains and fading are protected by the wear layer.  They ‘layer’ construction has given laminate the reputation of being indestructible. The inner core layer’s resin provides stability and the backing creates a moisture barrier that protects your floor from  warping. The top or ‘wear’ layer protects the floor from stains, scratching and fading.
